Unique Personnel - Northern Cape - Purpose of the role is to scrutinize all requests for Foreign Exchange Payments for correctness and conformity to Exchange Control Regulations and rulings. The checking, verification and release of Outward Foreign Exchange payments, in line with client instructions and compliant with Exchange Control regulations, thereby ensuring efficient and effective customer service delivery. Key Relationship Interfaces Relationships with key parties on work related issues Internal Relationships External Relationships Team leaders, Business Centres, Commercial, Treasury Care, Reconciliations, Treasury Front Office MBL Foreign Exchange Clients, Intermediaries Verification, Checking and release of Foreign Exchange deals on Bancs Treasury Verification and release payments and settlements per client instructions on Bancs Ensure Exchange Control compliance in Foreign Exchange payments in line with Exchange Control regulations Escalating transactions not permissible in terms of Exchange Control to Exchange Control Ensure all transactions comply with Global Sanctions Screening Policies and Money Laundering requirements Identify trends presented in write off reports received and implement corrective measures to reduce write offs Recovery of Fees and Commissions from clients in respect of Foreign Exchange payment processing Ensure settlement account(s) are reconciled daily and exception items classified and followed up. Liaise and assist Customer Service Controller in resolving client queries, requests, etc. on a continuous basis and interact with clients in this regard. Passing of Cash Flow from customers accounts and follow-ups on insufficient funds Collateral pledging of funds as per Margin Report received from Middle office Transferring surplus funds from internal suspense accounts to local Company as per customers instructions Log events related to fraud and losses or near misses onto the event logger. Completion of incoming SWIFT queries (MT199, MT999 and M196) Checking of messages on modification queue / verification queue Liaise with customers with regards to queries. At month end and at end-of day (EOD) rolling of FEC and Spot deals with Dealing room and a list sent to Front and Middle office. Do follow-ups on outstanding deal settlements Daily preparation and submission of Margin Report to Middle Office in the absence of the Dealing room Administrator. Releasing of collateral holds on accounts when payments are due Investigating and preparing of report for clearing of manual Opay queue Recovering of charges from our EUR and USD correspondent Company (CGD) for charges as OUR, on payment message. At end-of day (EOD) Check that the following queues have been cleared Opay table Bancs MT202 Bancs Swift rejections Swift Landobyte Firco Soft Perform people management functions, including but not limited to: workforce and recruitment demand planning talent management and succession planning mentoring and coaching management of discipline and grievances performance management training and development Knowledge Skills Personal Attributes Knowledge and compliance with Company Policies and Procedures Accuracy Responsible and reliable Knowledge of Operational Risk Time management Positive attitude Knowledge of departmental strategy to support business unit plan Attention to detail Work under pressure Knowledge and understanding of basic pricing concepts and application to client transactions / accounts Planning and organising skills Team Player Knowledge and understanding SA Reserve Exchange Control regulations, SWIFT standards, cut-off times, etc Superior Customer Service Delivery Commitment Relevant knowledge of payment documentation such as, Invoices, Computer literacy: MS Office Suite Intermediate Honesty transport documentation and customs documentation.
