Requirements
Matric and 3 years National Diploma in ICT or a Bachelor’s Degree in ICT (Computer Science or Informatics, or Information Technology). Certificate in any of the server administration courses. MCSE/MCSA or Certified SQL server administrator will be added advantage. 3-5 years’ experience in ICT network and server support. A valid driver’s license is required and relevant experience. Knowledge and Skills: Problem solving, planning, organizing and decision making skills. Excellent knowledge of Window Server 2003/8 and Active Directory.
Duties
The incumbent’s responsibility will be to develop and maintain network and server infrastructure. Install, test, upgrade and relocate network components to increase network capacity and performance of systems as required. Ensuring that backups are done according to schedule and are verified regularly. Carry out problem recognition and resolution, liaising with service providers as required. Monitor network and take preventative actions as required, co-ordinate installations, upgrade or enhancements to network, servers and participate in evaluations of new ICT equipment. Provide desktop support as when required. Give inputs on technical matters regarding information Technology issues requests from users via standard channels. Perform network and system maintenance. Resolving issues relating to 2nd line support functions with Windows Servers and Active Directory. Create and maintain accurate documentation of system hardware. (i.e Switch, Routers, etc) and software configuration for all system. Drawing up weekly and monthly reports for ICT team. Liaison with service providers and co-ordinate their work. Provide technical advice and support to ICT users.
